Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - First Teaser
Blue Swede's "Hooked on a Feeling?" Check. Quirky style? Check. Rollicking action? Humor? A raccoon? Check. Check. Check.
That can only mean one thing: the first teaser for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has finally dropped. And boy does it look great. It has just the right mix of fresh and familiar to properly stoke excitement while also reminding us what a blast we had with the original.
There are a couple interesting tidbits worth noting. I love the heightened Mohawk on Michael Rooker's Yondu. It hews closer to Yondu's comic book look without diving too deeply into the sillier aspects of that character's design. You can also catch a glimpse of Karen Gillen as Nebula looking like she's had a few upgrades, which isn't too surprising after how broken she was left at the end of the first film. The actors seem to have slipped back into the characters comfortably, and with James Gunn dutifully at the helm, this should at least still have that breezy adventurous tone. Also, in true Marvel fashion, even the teaser has a stinger after the credits. This time its Rocket with baby Groot on his back. I might be wrong, but something tells me baby Groot is going to sell about a billion toys all by himself.
With explosions and bodies abound, this looks to be one epic action comedy. Is May 5th here yet?
Check out the teaser.
